Sports Overview
There is significant evidence to show that physical education supports learning right across the curriculum. It also contributes to healthy and active lifestyles, improves emotional well-being, reduces poor behaviour, increases attendance and develops key skills such as leadership, confidence, social and team building skills. At St. Andrews, Marredpally, physical education is an integral part of our curriculum, it is inclusive and engages all students.
PE classes are held twice a week and our PE curriculum focuses on physical literacy that allows students to learn about themselves, the importance of a healthy lifestyle, self-expression and concepts such as fair play and respect. It also contributes to the development of a range of important cognitive skills such as decision making and analysis, and social skills such as teamwork and communication. We are on track to improving our programme of intra and inter school competitions which will provide opportunities for students to participate in competitive sports and activities both in and beyond the curriculum. St. Andrews School, Marredpally also offers specialized coaching and training in roller skating and chess. Our skaters have done us proud in state and regional levels.
